Reference Material. Looking at other 3d renderings is great, but an even better source is hand drawn conventional renderings and professional photography. They will give you great insight into entourage, image framing, lighting, etc. Don't limit yourself to architectural photography either. Look at landscape photos, magazine ads, etc.
