hatch22-2015 (v.0812.14.a) has been released.
I just paid for and downloaded the Hatch22-2016 for my 2016 version of Revit. I cannot complete the installation because I get an error 1001: Could not find a part of the path ‘C:\…..
Any thought on how to get this to install properly?
Could you email me your phone number and I’ll give you a call to work it out?
I’m having similar issues with the Hatch22 2016 install. It installed correctly but did give me an error prior to completion. Inside Revit 2016 I can access the Hatch22 Add-In, but everything is ghosted inside the software. License says “Valid License Found? : False”.
Resolved…Just needed to bind the seat to the license and download the license file.
There hasnt been an release for Revit 2016 – are there going to be one for 2017??
We are quite happy for your tool, as it is simple and does the trick…
I’m working on hard both 16 and 17. Hopefully very soon.
Does the Autocad radial (between Drafting/Model/Autocad) work in newer versions now? The version I have says it is in development.
The hatch patterns that it generates work in AutoCad on my tests. I have not heard of anyone having problems, but I haven’t removed the message yet…simply because there have been higher priorities.
The 2013 and 2015 version do not work for me in cad files. We just upgraded to 2015 too. 2015-08.12.14a
Can you send me the revit file you used to create the pattern and the resulting pattern?
Also, what happened in autocad? Did it give you an error message?
No errors in cad per se, just the hatch defaulting to ANSI31. Files sent over.
I’d like my parquet model pattern to keep it’s 45 degree angles, but the program adjusts these automatically and changes the geometry of my sketch when it creates the pattern.
What do I need to do to get my angles to remain?
Try making your vertical and horizontal bounds the same dimension. Let me know if that doesn’t work.
We have purges your hatch maker for Revit 2015.
We are now using Revit 2016. Is there a hatch maker plugin for Revit 2016?
Not yet. But I’m working on it.
I’m having trouble creating a hatch with dashed vertical lines.
I’m using “hatch22 – boundary lines” and “hatch22 – dashed” lines However, it keeps making a hatch with continuous lines.
I appreciate your help
1) Can you send me a screen shot, dimensions and hatch type to email@example.com ?
2) Have you looked at the sample files and the video on youtube?
We’ll get it worked out.
We purchased a couple seats of Hatch22 off your website and i’m just wondering how long it takes to get the confirmation email and download link.
You should have gotten it right away, but the store that I use keeps letting me down. I’ll look into it right now. I’m assuming the email domain you used here is the same as that which you used on the order. If you don’t hear from me in 10 min or so, please post back or call me. 512.423.2131
Thank you for your quick reply and for solving the issue so quickly it was much appreciated!
Hi! Is Hatch-22 available for Revit 2016, and if not, what do you recommend for a firm that only has Revit 2016 (not 2015)?
I’m working on a 16 version.
If you have a subscription you could download 15 and use that. That’s a pain, I know.
You don’t keep 2015 on any of your machines for old projects?
Thanks for your quick response. Unfortunately we don’t — we are transferring from Vectorworks to Revit right now. Will be eager to buy Hatch-22 for 2016 when you finish! Thanks!!
If I were to purchase the 2015 version now what are my options for upgrading to 2016 when it is released? Will I have to pay full price for 2016 or is there an upgrade package at a reduced price? I understand the cost very reasonable, I would just hate to purchase 2015 to find out 2016 comes out a week to a month later. Do you have an estimated release date for 2016?
Thanks for your time! It looks like a great tool.
I’m hoping to have an upgrade path for 2016, but that requires solving some code problems that I don’t know if I will have time for. But, since that will be fun stuff I’ll likely spend extra time on it.
If i can’t get that to work I won’t have any practical way to provide an upgrade and it will have to be a new purchase. Although that is not set in stone either. It could be that I just manually provide upgrades for the larger packages.
As far as buy a version close to the release date of a new version, we should be able to work something out.
ETA…Feb? Please bear with me.
Thanks. I’m glad you like it.
Any updates or an E.T.A. on the 2016 version?
Still working on other side jobs and playing on very important vacations. I hope to be back to working on it again mid Jan. Please bear with me.
With 2017 on the horizon, keep that in mind also. For what it’s worth, we think you could charge a bit more for the tool. Best in class and worth more than you charge.
I have installed it in every addin folder possible. It still does not show up. I’ve installed it roaming, local, program files, etc. I even installed it in the folder that other add-ins are showing up in Revit 2015.
Each time I deleted the other instances and unblocked the dll and addin files. Please help
resolved oct 7
We are having issues installing the Add in for one of our customers.
We have installed it in the following location,
unblocked both the .dll and .addin files
Restarted Revit, but we cannot get a martens button, neither does it appear in External Tools.
We then removed if from that location and put it in this one, again being sure to unblock the .dll add .addin files
There are other Add ins in the ProgramData location and they load fine.
Although we have tried both locations, we were careful to make sure it was only in one location at a time as I understand it cannot be in both.
Do you have any ideas what we are missing?
The typical solutions are these.
If you’re getting an error message then you probably forgot to unblock the files. Try unblocking the zip and then unzip.
If no error, then you probably put it into the wrong folder. It’s very easy to get it wrong because there are other folders that look the same.
Also, you may have accidentally installed it in two different folders. That will break it. Delete from one if them.
Finally, if that does not do it, take a look at your most recent journal file. Search for hatch22. There may be some hint there on what is going wrong.
This list of solutions is exactly what I needed. I tried installing in several different app folder locations. Deleting them down to the right one solved it. Consider posting this list directly under the Hatch 22 install instructions. Thank you!
Just purchased a 2015 version of Hatch 22 for Revit 2015.
I have followed all the steps for installation on your website , not showing up in my add ins.
I just purchased 1 seat of Hatch 22 for 2015 through Paypal. I have not received an email with the add in attached.
solved I believe
I want to purchase a site copy of Hatch 22 but we are in the process of upgrading to revit 2016…have you tested your 2015 on the new revit? Do you have plans for a 2016 version?
Matt. I have not tested hatch22 on ’16 yet. It shouldn’t work on it without at least some minor changes. Since you will probably be keeping 2015 on your computer for a while, you could get the 2015 version and just make all of your hatch patterns there. They should import into 2016 without a problem(unless autodesk makes a huge change ).
Yes, I do plan on releasing a 2016 version.
I have purchased the Hatch22 for Revit 2015 and am trying to create a simple batting hatch pattern? Is this possible?
Also all the .pat files are being created in imperial measurements, is it possible to create metric .pat files?
Yes you can create a batting pattern. I have one in my examples file. Let me know if that doesn’t help you.
Hatch22 does not create pat files with metric. This shouldn’t be an issue for you unless you want to manually edit the pat file. Internally, Revit uses imperial units for hatch patterns anyway.
Thank you for your reply, I eventually found the example but still have some issues.
Namely when I try to create a duplicate/multiplied hatch the pattern is being offset by an arbitrary distance.
I could send a screenshot if it helps?
Send to firstname.lastname@example.org
I sent a screen capture a couple of days ago, please can you advise if you have received the email?
thanks a lot does it woek for curvy lines,Does it flloow unit inch or meter or is it flloow the programme unit ? your tool is neccessary and thanks so much for making it free to us joping you continue on that.your step is respected generous from you i like your tool it making now no difference with archicad. because when i saw comparison between archicad and revit this was one of weak point in revit and i think it solved by you:).
Sorry for the late reply.
Pat files do not support curved lines, but you can approximate them with a series of short lines.
we recently purchased Hatch22 2015. I have unzipped the folder into the programdata folder on my computer and unblocked the dll. Yet when I start revit, it conitnues to give me the same error message as if i didnt unblock the dll. Also, it appears under the external tools drop down, rather than the mertens one.
Try unblocking the zip file and then extracting. That will probably fix it. Let me know.
I think the routine will show up under both the external tools and in the mertens3d drop down (once installed correctly).
we went in and assigned the users as admins and that seemed to work.
I just purchased the 5-seat licence of Hatch-22 2015 (order #580) and paid via paypal. The email I got had the installation/download link but it’s for the 2012-2014 version, not 2015. Can you send me the link to the proper download?
solved via email
Is there an update to to hatch22 for Revit 2015 or does the add-in has to be purchased again?
There is no update, it would have to be purchased again. However, since you will probably be keeping your earlier version of revit on your machine, you could just develop your pat files there and then import them into 2015.
Thanks for making Hatch22 – it’s a great tool at a fair price
Just one comment… when I make my hatches in a metric file (millimeters), it saves the .PAT file out in inches. Is there any way you can change this?
If I change the first line of the header to say ;%UNITS=MM then the hatch is the wrong scale. We like to keep our .PAT files in millimeters, for obvious reasons.
You know like you have the model/drafting toggle, could you not have an inches/millimeters toggle?
Thanks Chris. There is no way to save the units in metric. But, unless you plan on manually editing the .pat, it shouldn’t matter. The hatch pattern should display correctly. Let me know if not. Aldo, Revit converts all units to imperial (internally).
A little routine in your export script could just do a factor of 25.4 and insert the ;%UNITS=MM in the header?
You’re right, in that the hatch imports correctly scaled, regardless of the units in the PAT file, but the import dialog for PAT files clearly shows inches, which means users want to type *25.4 in the import scale…
The fact you guys are stuck with 18th Century units makes life really hard in the UK – all software comes from the US and all defaults are in inches… (not your fault… just a grumble)
We went through your purchase site to buy hatch 22 2015 on the 5th September. We are really excited to use it but since paying, we have not received an email for the relevant information to download and install it. Could you please investigate and email me.
I also sent an email on the 8th.
I’m looking into it right now James.
I see an order on the 5th from your company. I am forwarding a copy of the email you should have received to you, Richard and Val.
Please let me know whether or not you get it.
I do not see any email from you on the 8th.
Ah…I just found the email in my spam folder. I’m sorry about that.
Thanks for the speedy response.
All is now good.
Love Hatch 22 and have used it in Revit 2013, 2014 etc
Went to your shop to buy Version 2015, all went well but when it came to entering details for the Cart . . . there is no provision for purchasers outside of the USA.
Greg there are 7 billion people on this planet and only 350 million live in the USA . . . I am not sure where this mind set comes from . . . but I could not buy the product.
Greg, can you set up your store so that “others” can buy without the frustration of being rejected because we do not live in a state of the USA.
Perhaps an “Other” category would work and then I can Western Australia and buy your excellent app.
Laugh . . . mate will you let me know when I can pay you and download Mertens 22 V 2015!!
I don’t know why you are experiencing problems. Many other people have been able to buy from outside of the US and I haven’t intentionally blocked any sales. I’ll look into it a little more.
I just tried and on the checkout page, where you first enter billing information I have a dropdown for “Country” that has a hundred or so listed…including Australia.
Can you email me a screen shot of your interface where it’s not allowing you to select a different country? info at mertens3d.com
I’m certain that I have things where they are suppose to be per the instructions. Still no Hatch-22 in the addins. Can I send you a screen shot of Revit 2015 and Explorer which will indicate where stuff is?
Based on the screen shot you sent me, you appear to have it in the correct location.
So, what might be happening is that you have it installed in two places or in an incorrect spot and there is a conflict.
Open your most recent Revit Journal file and search for “hatch22″ and/or “error”. That might give you a clue as to what is going wrong.
Let me know.
Purchased hatch-22 for revit 2015 today and installed it per your instructions. I did not unblock a dll file cause I didn’t know which file you were referring to. Anyway, I checked to make certain that your files were in both the Revit 2015 addins folder and the Revit Architectural addins folder. Rebooted windows and restarted Revit – no plugin in my add-ins bar inside of Revit. I’m running Windows 8.1. What do you think might be the problem?
Are you getting any error messages?
It sounds like you’ve installed the add-in in two separate places. You can’t do this, it needs to be in only one of the two I list in my installation instructions.
I suspect that is the problem.
If you didn’t unblock the files, when you needed to, then you would be getting an error message when you open Revit. That may still happen once you install the add-in in only one of the locations. Then you can probably just unblock the dll file.
No error messages – I will remove one of the installations and see what happens.
I removed both installations – restarted windows – and then extracted the zip file directly into the programs/Autodesk/Revit 15…addins/ folder. I checked to make certain that the files are in the folder and then rebooted windows and restarted revit. I started a new job and then looked under the addin folder and hatch-22 was not listed. I also go no error messages.
So I think I am doing what I am suppose to. What should I try next.
It sounds and looks like you are putting the files in the wrong folder. It should be in ProgramData, not Programs. Make sure you are putting the files in the exact folder listed in my installation instructions.
I’m having trouble getting Hatch 22 to make the line types in Revit 2015. I keep getting an error code that says:
AutodeskRevit.Exceptions.lnvalidOperationException: Starting a new
transaction is not permitted. It could be because another transaction
already started and has not been completed yet, or the document is in a
state in which it cannot start a new transaction (e.g. during failure handling
or a read only mode, which could be either permanent or temporary).
newSubCatName, Color& newSubCatColor)
It does this four times in a row, I’m guessing one for each line type it is trying to create. Any ideas? I’m running Revit 2015 under Windows 8.1
I will contact you to discuss.
